Two Massachusetts brands come together for an interesting collaborative effort. Fidelity, known for their mil-spec coats works with the Sperry Top-sider collection for a three shoe/boot and pea coat – all using the Fidelity’s melton wool formula. As you can see the upper on the boat shoe, boot, and lace-up apply pea coat wool. The boot in the collection even gets a quick pea coat button hit on the upper. The pea coat comes branded with Fidelity and Sperry  Top-sider on the label. Available this Autumn 2012. As seen at PROJECT in Las Vegas.

While these two colorways from the Sperry Top-Sider collection may seem common, they are in fact back after a long break. Even more exciting for those Made in America heads is that these Sperry’s are built and produced in my second favorite state of Maine. Shit, I used to wear the Mohogany version of these (as well as a pair from Eastland) back in middle school. Damn, I’m old.

Crew helps continue to push the boat/deck shoes into 2010 by making available the 75th anniversary collection from Sperry. “In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Sperry (the original seadog and maker of the iconic deck shoe since 1935) is releasing a limited-edition collection based on authentic designs from its archives—and this one just happens to be inspired by the very first shoe that Paul Sperry ever made. Highsnobiety comes through with a comprehensive look at the Autumn/Winter 2009 Band of Outsiders for Sperry Top-sider collection. A nice variety of looks which should be on the shelves now. “Next to mid boat shoes, Chukkas, regular boat shoes and loafers, the most interesting new releases in the collection are probably the Rubber Boat Shoes. These come with a painted Trompe L’oeil, basically faking the look of a regular boat with graphics on an otherwise seamless upper. They present several colorways of this special release. The Chukka comes in both suede and premium leathers with nice striped canvas linings.”

Bread & Butter Berlin started off day one with a mix of clouds, sun, and heat. Footwear wise we start it off with a look at the Sperry Top-sider collection for Band of Outsiders. Felt like material is used on three of the four models with a fourth finished in fine sueded. The internal liner on all the models is striped blue/white cotton.

Sperry Topsider produced two pair of neon colored limited edition boat shoes for Jeffrey New York. We have certainly seen a lot of different takes on the boat shoe in recent years, ever since the model gained mainstream popularity again, but neon on the boat shoe is new.
