We have to admit that Burberry is stepping it up on the casual wear front for this Spring. “Building on its heritage of fabric innovation and development, the Burberry sport collection includes technical performance-enhancing fabrics including waterproof nylon laminates, bonded nylon windproof jersey, shower-proof nylon, superfine piqué, featherweight nylon corduroy ripstop, silk jersey and breathable nylon jersey.”

May we remind you that we previewed the Spring/Summer 2009 collection from LA’s Warriors of Radness not too long ago? Their anti-surf inspired goods have hit better stores worldwide – from Opening Ceremony L.A. And N.Y, Oak Brooklyn, Reserve Los Angeles, Fred Segal Man in Santa Monica. “The Warriors mindset stands in direct opposition to all things ’surf industry’, the bastion of narrow minded cookie cutter corporate mediocrity spawned out of Orange County.”

While check prints are slowly, slowly dying out, there’s still a few good check print tops to be found. Despite the fact that this is labelled as a shirt/jacket, it’s basically a very English version of a varsity jacket. And it’s all the better for it. This won’t be to everyones tastes, but what is? All we know is that is the most original version of a varsity we’ve seen in a long time. Get it from Farfetch.

If you’ve been paying any attention to women’s fashion, you’ll no doubt have heard of ‘colour blocking’, this jacket is a fine example of colour blocking at it’s finest. Blocking has been on the outskirts of men’s fashion for a while now, with plenty of designers getting it wrong. If there’s more pieces like this, we might just see this trend move to the forefront. Thanks to Men’s Rag, I now have to contemplate another dosh digger. N.D.C’s Made by Hands Accessories for Spring/Summer 2009 have me asking – how many more bags do I need? Clearly more. The leather wide brief, is finished with wave stained leather that is not to be confused with a religious shroud. The shoe shine kit is finished nicely in dark stain. Keep those brogues sharp.

Odyn Vovk (traslated to One Wolf) debuts their first collection with Spring/Summer. As Fashionisto mentioned, “Odyn Vovk’s first season does not have a theme, because [designer, Austin] Sherbanenko did not want a particular story for his first collection.  He ‘designed the collection without the structured direction that a hard lined story would offer.’  He ‘had a much more spontaneous approach.  Ideas would pop into [his] head and [he would] follow the ones worth following.’  The collection’s palette consist of black and white.”
