Antony Morato Spring/Summer 2011

Antony Morato Spring/Summer 2011

A couple more from Spring 2011. “Antony Morato is a brand that states the vision of a changing market, in which the need to tell a life style is more important than the whims of an unconditioned “being trendy”. To this new generation of consumers (men between 18 and 35), the line offers a know how inherited from the main purveyors of the Italian History, faithfully opening the doors to a ‘new luxury era’ in which the quality/price ratio represents the main attraction in the customers’ eyes.” (thof)

Later on, he attends the Domus Academy in Milan, to gain further knowledge on designs in fashion.” (lift)

FIRST LOOK | HAN Spring/Summer 2011 Clothing

FIRST LOOK | HAN Spring/Summer 2011 Clothing

The good folks at HAN sent over some exclusive first looks at their apparel for Spring/Summer 2011 which includes a new take on tapered denim and field jackets. “In our jeans range, we have added a rinsed wash 12,5 Oz red listed selvedge Okayama jeans fabric in a new fit called 50’s Zip fly which has a boxy top with a regular thigh and a tapered hem… Our Field Jacket is a fitted military classic. This style has been indigo over dyed and is made of cotton and flax.” Leather seems to be in order for Spring as well. HAN’s “heavy-washed-down” sheep’s leather Moped jacket is a symbolic gesture to Danish culture.

TO KI TO Spring/Summer 2011

TO KI TO Spring/Summer 2011

Mr. Williams returns for a second year in the row to Tokyo. I unfortnately did not. But luckily, ACL gets sprnklings of his visit every now and then. The latest is a unique  look at a designer whose work with a heritage outwear company,  is more known than his own line – at least outside of Japan.

“Tokihito is probably best known (though I think he still flies largely under the radar) for his wildly successful (and completely badass) Barbour Beacon collection. Outside of that, Tokihito and his own line TO KI TO don’t have much of a presence outside of Japan, something that needs to change. Tokihito has some serious design skills and is deserving of all of the good words that can be sent his way. When it comes down to it, I wouldn’t be afraid to say he is one of the best designers in the world.”

N. Hoolywood Spring/Summer 2011

N. Hoolywood Spring 2011

Japan’s N. Hoolywood looks back to the classic police profile portraits of the 40’s for inspiration behind their Spring 2011 lookbook. “‘Police Picture’ around 1910~1940 is the theme for N.Hoolywood this season. We have focused on mug shots, which is the most symbolic figure of the theme.  We have broken down unique mixture of the formal wear and prisoners’ uniform into coordination and details.” Who would have imagined prisonwear to break out. A new category? Tough to tell at this moment.

Nonnative “The Bluffer’s Code” Spring/Summer 2011

Nonnative "The Bluffer's Code" Spring/Summer 2011

I have to say the new Nonnative lookbook for Spring 2011 has me interested. “The Bluffer’s Code” collection is outstanding. The collection is awfully wearable by everyman. Looks stay within a focused look of classic casual wear with the addition of something unique. Could it be the colors? I think it’s the accessories – from bags to eyewear. A clear standout in the Spring 2011 pack.

Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2011 Lookbook

Tom Ford delivers looks from his Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Bold colors in varying hues fill this collection. “Tom Ford‘s latest menswear collection is anything but forgettable with its bright palette and high waisted pants all with a Halston-esque combination of chic and sexy that only Tom Ford could pull off.” Only for the “select” few who can work these looks. Good luck. (thof)

Ts(s) Spring/Summer 2011 Garment Looks

Following up on our styled looks at Ts(s)’s collection for Spring/Summer 2011, we dip in at individual shots of the garments in the collection. Jackets, in various patterns make up a good deal of the collection. Tartan, herringbone, and striped present the knits in the collection well – as does their neckwear and scarves that compliment many of the garbs. Trouser pants (slightly wide) and more are also shown. A well done collection overall – if you can find the garments. (clstr)
