Carrying on our top 5 albums feature is Dom Stansfield, who has his favourite albums after the leap.

Now that Stansfield’s SS09 collection has dropped at Selectism supporter Daniel Jenkins (who handily reminded everyone via his twitter) we can take a closer look at a few pieces.  While the whole collection is dope – we featured the reversible jacket the other day – this cotton canvas blazer caught our eye.

Modelled by Jenkins himself, this cotton canvas blazer have some great touches to it, including a shawl collar and a contrast trim. The colour means it’ll go well with some navy chinos if you wanted to wear it in summer, in winter you could easily work it into a Junya Watanabe-esque look. (DanielJenkins)

Some fresh new looks from Stansfield. This reversible nylon windbreaker offers an interesting patchwork of blues on various panels. The cuff and collars are finished in black ribbing. Stansfield gear is always quality. We’re pretty sure this reversible is up there too. (danieljenkins)

Rock this waxed cotton jacket from Stansfield and the rain gods will not drench out your lovely top. Daniel Jenkins carries this jacket and knows the designer by name. “axed piece by Dominic Stansfield. Dom has been creating waxed pieces for quite a few seasons now. Other labels have caught on but this is the real deal.” We like it too.

This Stansfield reversible shirt could easily be classified as a jacket – it has a zip instead of buttons and has lining, so it can be worn over something else as an outer layer or spring jacket. It’s also one of those rare reversible items that looks like the designer has made sure that it looks great whichever way you decide to wear it. Get it from Oki-Ni.

Brands seem to be understanding that they’ll gain far more viewers by letting us in on their creative process instead of letting some marketing lackey write some useless buzzwords. Take the Stansfield blog for example, They’ve started to show some of their research for their SS10 collection and so far, it seems like they’ll be incorporating some nautical influences. Let’s put it bluntly, Stansfield just made good wears. If I was ever willing to part with my current parka, I would most likely look for a coat from them – especially this Car Coat. The fleece lined (polka dots at that) coat comes with a cowl neck trim and black leather buttons – simple details that remind us that classic is still very much cool.
