Acne - Mckenzie Suede Jacket

Oliver Spencer adds a personal touch to his accessories for Autumn Winter 2011 with these Oli Gloves. The mitten/fingerless option has become a bit of a must if you hope to make any use of your smartphone while out and about this winter. Sure, you could just take your gloves off, but if you can keep at least 50% of your hand warm while you send that picture of a dog in a hat then why not. Moss green wool, with peanut suede palms for added grip, find them flipped or unflipped over at Oliver Spencer.

Opening Ceremony Suede Cardigan

We’re not sure what to call this. We’re avoiding the journalistic tendency to act like a hipster DJ doing a ‘mash up’ – so we’re not calling this a cacket or jardigan (however tempting that sounds). Whatever it is, it has suede, is a purdy shade of green and costs a fair few pennies. (Farfetch)

Oliver Spencer Navy Suede Chukka Boot

Contrast soles are always the way forward for Spring/Summer collections but this one manages to stand out of the increasingly packed crowd. A testament to the speed of the internet, it was only a few weeks ago that people were salivating over the show preview and now it’s in stores already. We can’t say much about this shoe that hasn’t already been said so we’ll leave on this final thought; Aren’t they some handsome boots? (Oliver Spencer)

Song remains the same, take a leap to see detailed images of the boot.

B-Store Grey Suede Shoe

We did love the apprehensive coverage those sneaker/sandal hybrids got on the blogs. Don’t be scared folks, it’s just footwear. B Store do more than make hybrids, so we thought we’d show the conventional side of the boutique-ternt-designers. While we love low profile soles, chunky soles are perfect for sludgy weather (and adding some height). We’re bored of talking about our love for suede shoes but, erm, we do love a suede shoe – especially if it’s on sale. (Farfetch)

Bottega Veneta Suede Derbies

selectism - bottega-veneta-suede-derby-shoes-01

Only a few designer shoes pass the ‘are they worth the coin’ test nowadays. Whether they’ve been slacking in their macking or simping in their pimping, we’re just not into most designers SS10 collections. Bottega Veneta are a rare exception, making at least one shoe a collection that’s worth robbing a bank for. It goes without saying (except it doesn’t really, because we are saying it) that these suede derbies are this seasons ‘to rob for’ shoes. Better get your ski masks on. (Browns)

Mark McNairy for ACL & Co. Longwing Brogue and Suede Cap Toe Patton Boot

07 December 2009, 17.36 | Posted in Shoes | No comments »

selectism - Mark McNairy for ACL & Co.

When two nice guys based in New York get together to produce shoes, you get some of the rare British bits not crafted by Polish people. Both the Longwing Brogue and Suede Cap Toe Patton Boot are made in Northampton, a town known for shoes and being Britain’s 3rd most populated town. Built on a Goodyear welt, they’ve got a red brick sole (the fantastic touch of Mr. McNairy) and will assist in making you look smart. Or “get handsome.” From ACL.

The shop also has another offering from McNairy’s Red Brick Sole and the full line is filtering into other stock lists. Worth a gander as well.

Images of boots follow.
