Surface to Air ‘Motorpsycho’ Jacket

04 August 2011, 15.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Selectism - surface-to-air-motorpsycho-jacket-01

We’ve gotta say, this is a pretty rapperesque piece. We could definitely see Mr West wearing one and Rick Ross rapping about wearing one (whilst giving up on actually wearing one after seeing the maximum size was only XXL). We’re sure regular folks could wear it too but it’d help you could drop an impromptu 16 bars before putting it on. (Surface to air)

Surface 2 Air Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

Today we preview the new Spring/Summer 2012 Collection by French brand Surface 2 Air. The collective also involved in advertising, design and music, gives us a look at their upcoming collection, which nicely mixes their typical French touch with a clean cut collection, which could also come from a Scandinavian brand. The signature leather jackets by Surface 2 Air are of course also part of the collection, next to some nice shirting, washed crewneck sweaters, easy to wear t-shirts and more.

The full Surface 2 Air Spring/Summer 2012 Collection can be viewed after the jump.

Surface to Air Classic v5 Oxford Shirt

The Surface to Air Spring/Summer Collection has been delivered and the guys and girls at Gargyle have it available. The “Classic Shirt V5 Oxford” offers a slim narrow fitting cut that has a great “classic plaid placket with mother of pearl buttons.” The clean “S2A” embroidered logo adds to the sophisticated look. The plaid detail at the closure of the shirt distinguishes it from every oxford shirt in the market today and it looks great tucked in. Gargyle has them.

Surface to Air Autumn/Winter 2011 Look

Fashionisto gives their take on the Autumn 2011 collection from Paris’ Surface to Air line. “Expanding their horizons and adding formal attire to the latest collection, the label achieves a more rounded finish. Dashing but nevertheless youthful in an evening jacket, Surface to Air’s man easily makes the transition from polished to casual with a layered wardrobe of fitted separates, ranging from leather jackets and cords to knits.”

Surface to Air Duffle Coat

Surface to Air Duffle Coat

Surface to Air has been one of those brands that I’ve been following since their inception. They’ve become a “superbrand” that has a massive worldwide following. They also consult with a couple major brands from Japan; Issey miyake and UNIQLO are just to name a few. I had the chance to try on this jacket and the fit is solid. The best detail is the hood with brim; perfect for snow, sleet and rain. The removable epaulettes option should be offered on all jackets that have permanent epaulettes. The jacket comes in black and is 80% wool and 20% Polyamide. A nice slim coat that is made to last. (Welcomstrangersf)

Surface to Air Shawl Cardigan

Surface to Air designs their take on the classic shawl cardigan. Made of 100% Merino wool, this piece would layer perfectly over any outfit. They used a “special waffle knit technique” and “S2A engraved buttons” to line the front of the cardigan. The piece comes in two different colors: “V1” is a camel colored brown and “V2” is black. An article from a respected brand that comes for the Fall season. The cardigan is available at SurfaceToAir. (gb)

Selectism - Scott Campbell for Surface to Air Leather Jackets

Following up on the success of the King of Leon leather goods, Surface to Air, once again, works on a fresh collection with Scott Campbell. “S2A has the pleasure to present to you two leather jackets customized by American contemporary and tattoo artist Scott Campbell. The jackets are composed of leather applications covered in laser etched drawings. The applications are hand sewn using the famous ‘loop stitch’ technique inspired by original Hells Angels members jacket. The jacket ‘Dead Fucks,’ portrays funeral inspired drawings using classic Scott Campbell symbolism. The ‘Cobra Jacket’ shows an extremely intricate drawing of cobra heads intertwined and covering the entire back.
