A label making some interesting moves, this 100% lambswool football/varsity/college sweater is a great example of their fine repros.

We featured Ireland’s Inis Meáin a while back, experts in the ever popular Aran knitwear field. This V-neck is produced exclusively for Stockholm’s Nitty Gritty.

A merino wool and cashmere mix, soft as puppy covered in marshmallows, its ribbed cuffs, hem and general camel coloured goodness all made on the Aran Islands. While we generally lean more towards the crew neck we’d happily change our ways for this one.

You might want to get your hands on Marni now. In a few months time you’ll be able to say, ‘I liked Marni before they collab’ed with H&M’. You can also say you’re not into polyblends, which the H&M collaboration will almost certainly consist of.

Anyway, true gentleman don’t queue overnight for clothes – a made up gentleman’s rule, but it’ll probably make its way into one of those lists. Mr Porter has them.

LN-CC are now stocking Christopher O’Brien, a CSM graduate who honed his skills at E. Tautz. And, while it clearly has its basis in tailoring, it’s a little different to the stuff you see from Mr Grant. Take this crinkle panelled sweater for instance. Umit Benan’s got people now. What we mean by that is that Umit Benan looks like he has a following and that people, for lack of a better or more emo phrase, get him. The war of the crewnecks is one that’s still raging around these menswear streets, here’s another late entry into the warzone. We know authentically made jumpers have their place but we’re not wearing some itchy jumper for the sake of ‘realness’. We prefer the Rick Ross-esque approach to authenticity. (The Corner)

Our pound for pound favourite brand have done it again. Drawing inspiration from the classic cricket sweater, there’s just enough of the twist – and the twist is so important – to pique our interest. The bib style can be hit or miss on knitwear – you are very close to looking like a waiter sometimes – but it works here. (Por Vocacao)

Beige isn’t boring. It’s actually the perfect colour for a cardigan. To be specific, a Comme Des Garcons SHIRT merino cardigan. There’s something very calming about the coming together of several shades of brown, this particular combination reminds us of a chocolate Neapolitan ice cream wafer sandwich. Basically, this is a soft gelato dream of a cardigan, the kind of thing you wear whilst sitting by the fire, listening to Jazz. Be-bop your way over to End.

We’re all about that purple swag*. Especially when it’s imparted through a sweater instead of an awful rapper. We’ve also started to notice a trend in knitwear – mixing wools. The (woollen) streets are talking and they’re saying they want wool. And they want it mixed. Mixed like Grey Goose and a mixer.
