French designer Lucien Pellat-Finet, known for his cashmere creations, has worked with artist Marc Quinn in his Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. Marc Quinn is part of the YBA (Young British Artist) group, alongside Damien Hirst.

The art of Marc Quinn was applied to cashmere sweaters for both men and women, as well as to towels in the new Lucien Pellat-Finet Spring/Summer 2009 Collection.

We think the collaboration works well on the towel, for a sweater it might be a little extreme, at least it is for us.

Aloha Rag collaborated with one of Italy’s finest cashmere company, Annapurna, on a variety of goods for the winter. Two favorites are the simple mock neck sweaters – in grey or black, which should not be confused with your aunt’s style turtle necks. These are low profile, with side button-ups that cover the nape just enough without that choker impression. The cashmere is finished with a great skull stitch on to ensure that the evil in you comes out when you wear these sweaters. Get them now from AR.

This cardigan and sweater set from Nom de Guerre looks heavy – as in heavyweight, which perfect for the incoming season. Both are knit from a 60/40 wool acrylic blend which gives the mariners a nice finished look. We love the oversized cuff on both the sweater and cardigan. Get them while you can from Blackbird.

Farah may have gotten its burst in Britain during the 70’s but the line has its roots in Texas USA. Like way back – 1920’s to be exact. Back then, El Paso, TX was the “jean capital of the USA” and the Farah family opened doors to move their quality wears before the economy and Depression forced their hand into the military world. Luckily the casual wear survived in its own right. Proper for the season are these shawl collar knit sweaters. They’re made from 70/30 acrylic/wool and are fashioned with a detailed leather knotted button. Available in Red Sky or Midnight Blue from Hip Leeds. A great alternative to the Swedish knits if you prefer.

Norway’s Arne & Carlos offers some seasonally proper sweaters and cardigans, that should not be confused with the Cosby style sweaters which some believe are in for a comeback. When the Scandinavians work over knits with local patterns, they come off proper and authentic. The patterened cardigan in white is favorite. If you can pull this off, you win.

Former Fear Factor contestant Hyden Yoo comes through with some great cardigans – the SOHO and Chelsea – for Fall. Both are made from 70/30 wool/cashmere blends and feature unique details making them more interesting than the traditional flat cards. The SOHO is fashioned with a wide ribbed mock shawl collar while the Chelsea comes as a pullover with a double breasted front and ribbed collar and sleeves. Two great looks for the Fall.

Its no doubt time for the knit sweaters to be pulled out of storage and be ready for the days to come. Or if you’re like me and purge your garments every season you’ll be looking for some new wears to keep your warm. Acne has a nice selection of sweaters and cardigans for the autumn months.
