As you might have guessed, we like to lounge. We like lounging so much we’ve turned into connoisseurs. And for our money, Reigning Champ sweatpants are some of the best around. They’re a nice weight, not to slim (very important, what with fashion brands making near skintight versions) and have a slight taper that keeps it away from being overly old school streetwear. So have we decided on a fancy name for a sweatpants yet? There were a couple of good ones – walking trousers is a choice one – but nothing’s really stuck. Can we suggest ‘ruggedly handsome soft trousers’? It’s got all the makings of a name that’s popular right now – namely, the use of rugged and handsome – and lets you know that these are softer than your average trouser. We’re not really sure about Sweatpants in the heat of summer. Mainly because they’re not that breathable unless you’re wearing those baggy ones that make you look like a reject from Step Up 3D. On a sidenote, we’re wondering if anyone’s thought of a fancier word for sweatpants? It looks like that’s all that’s holding it back at the moment. Someone who left a comment originally pointed this out and we have to wonder, how many names do jogging bottoms have these days? It’s almost like people are trying to give an old item a new name to get rid of the mental associations people have with said old item. For instance, these hope sweatpants are called sweat trousers, presumably to make them sound classier than they are. We’re not fooled. In fact, we like because they’re not classy. (C-Store)

Apologies in advance, but tracksuit bottoms aren’t going anywhere. We’ve heard that quote about tracksuit bottoms being a sign that you’ve given up on life but we disagree. If anything, it’s  a sign that you love life so much you want to spend every second being as comfortable as possible. And that’s a philosophy we can get behind. (Albam)

We’ve got Rebecca Black problems this morning. Is the new trend dressing up, Sprezzy-style or dressing down, sweatpants style? Which one do we chooooooose? We feel like the rest of the blog world is dictating we all dress up but, us being the contrarians we are, are advising pieces like this. Then again, what’s wrong with doing both? More proper sweats for the people. I may have some on right now. You never know. The T by Alexander Wang sweatpants are made from French terry cloth. They’re tapered slim instead of “Timb” boot cut classics. Wear them out all Spring. We will. O.C. has them.

Looking sharp is great and all, but we all need to chill out sometimes. And when it’s time to do that, we’re heading straight to the sweatpants. We like these ones because they’re not as skin tight as several of the designer versions, would look good rolled and, frankly, won’t leave you – for lack of a better term – overexposed in the crotch area. Now this is something we can get behind. As you might’ve guessed by now, when we get casual, we really get casual. And what’s more laid back than a pair of tracksuit bottoms. A fair few labels have been turning their hands to tracksuit bottoms for a while now but we pay attention when a label like Sunspel make a pair.
