TAG Heuer enters the eyewear game with a pair of aviator sunglasses. This is their first venture into the space and we can only imagine there will be more to come. Officially titled, TAG Heuer Avant-Garde Eyewear, the “vintage” aviator frame will be made available online.

Perpetuelle discusses the new Calibre 11 watch from TAG Heuer. “According to Calibre 11, this watch is ‘based on the traditional 39mm Monaco case, and like other Vintage Monaco editions, uses the Heuer logo and has the crown on the left-hand side of the case.’  In Switzerland, the McQueen Calibre 11 price will be CHF 7,700. Beautiful and clean racing blues on this one.

Fans of McQueen and moto-riders alike will appreciate this commemorative helment from TAG Heuer. “TAG Heuer has come out with a limited edition motorcycle helmet also inspired by the King of Cool, who wore a Heuer Monaco watch in the film. The retro-styled fiberglass helmet, which features a racing stripe matching the colors on McQueen’s driving gear, vintage Heuer logo, steel hardware and leather trim, is priced at about $650.” (luxist)

Here’s a race car inspired watch from the Tag Heuer family, first seen a while back. The Tag Heuer Monaco Twenty Four Calibre 36 Chronograph is a square face gem. ”The dial’s vertical blue and orange stripes echo the Gulf livery on the legendary Porsche 917K Steve McQueen drove in the movie “Le Mans”. The oversized number 24 at 12 o’clock pays tribute to the most famous endurance race in the world. Even the cover over the unique oscillating mass of the movement resembles a steering wheel.”(wh)

TAG Heuer pulls out some heritage of their own with the re-issue of the Silverstone chronograph series. “The original Silverstone was launched in 1974. TAG Heuer will re-issue it in February 2010 featuring the automatic caliber 11 Chronomatic with micro-rotor by Dubois-Depraz.” 1860 units of each chronograph will be produced. Following up on their Rolex customizer we covered some time ago, Bamford expands their bespoke range to include the Tag Heuer Monaco. Luxist gets it right. “Now celebrating its fortieth anniversary, the square-cased Monaco is one of the most iconic wristwatches of all time. But while TAG Heuer has released some special anniversary editions in various color combinations, Bamford lets you specify everything, from the dial color and strap stitching to the date window and chronograph indices. The privilege will cost you around ￡5,000, but there’s no cost for toying around with the online customization interface.”

TAG should get some love with the release of their Formula 1 Grande Date model. The watch is being worn by F1 rising star, Lewis Hamilton, and is inspired by the dashboard chronograph (produced by Heuer) on the 1960’s Monte Carlo. “These watches are equipped with the six legendary TAG Heuer features — “Easy Grip” screw-in crown; scratch-resistant titanium carbide-coated unidirectional turning steel bezel with raised fine-brushed figures; water-resistance to 200 meters; luminescent index and hands; scratch-resistant sapphire crystal; bracelet with double safety clasp and extension — in an oversized case (44mm).” (timezone)

Le Mans baby! Here’s a banger from Baselworld 2009. TAG Heuer is celebrating 40 years of the Monaco model with this Twenty Four Concept Chronograph Anniversary piece. The square face is a simple killer. “The large-faced, black-textured dial bears an oversize “24″ at 12 o’clock, in honour of the 24 of Le Mans, and the iconic blue and orange livery of Gulf Oil – the same colours TAG Heuer Ambassador Steve McQueen wore in his 1970 film classic, Le Mans.” Provide, please. (via timezone)

LVMH’s Tag Heuer is bringing their finest into the dash of a K.O.7 Spider. "The first GT car bearing the label of celebrated designer Ken Kiyoyuki Okuyama [made] its debut at the 78th Geneva Auto Show. The famous Japanese designer has teamed up with TAG Heuer to integrate two Grand Carrera Calibre Chronographs in the dashboard his revolutionary K.O.7 Spider, a perfect match with the avant-garde design, technology and engineering of this new high-performance and eco-compatible GT car."
