Takahiro Miyashita The Soloist Patching Shirts

Takahiromiyashita The Soloist Patching Shirts

More from the The Soloist collection by Takahiromiyashita. For Autumn/Winter 2011 these check pattern shirts are well tailored and feature an abundance of details including extra fabric around the collar to give the illusion of layering (as seen on the cowboy shirt) as well as a pleat detail in silk on their cocktail shirt. Worth a look. Think Silly has them.

Oliver Peoples For Takahiromiyashita The Soloist Glasses

These beautiful frames from Oliver People’s for Takahiromiyashita are made up of new and deadstock components. The addition of the clip on is a solid bonus. While not my personal color, the amber finish on the acetate and shape make them some of the strongest frames on the market today. Hoping they land outside the Japan market as well. S2W8 has them.

The Soloist Lapel Jacket

The Soloist drops a wonderful dove grey wool jacket. The jacket features a deconstruction along the seams that appears like the jacket has been ripped and re-sewn together. Long sleeves with wrist straps and press stud fastenings. The notched lapels lead into the concealed four press stud fastening closure with mock button holes. Two front pockets with flaps sit beneath exposed black zips.” Browns has it.

Selectism - Takahiro Miyashita To Launch The Soloist, Ltd

It would seem as though former Number (N)ine mastermind,  Takahiro Miyashita, is back with something new for the market. Not much is known yet on what will come of “The Soloist, Ltd.” Not much is known at this time outside of the focus being on menswear. The collection is set to launch in July via an exhibition. No runway show it would seem. (fsnap)

Number (N)ine S/S ‘08 Collection

Number Nine S/S '08

Number (N)ine has become one of our favorites in recent years. In case you are in NYC or Tokyo, make sure to visit their flagship stores, it’s a real experience. Their upcoming Spring/Summer 2008 collection stays in the grey and black tones and distances itself from graphics. The clothes are in general cut very large and worn very relaxed, also the brand suggest layering in their new collection.

Some outfits work and look good, inspiration as usual comes from the world of rock and Nirvana in particular. But we are a bit disappointed by the collection, because it has no pieces that really stand out, one could almost call it boring. The last collection was much better and more interesting than this one. True Number (N)ine fans will of course still go for it! Our favorite pieces are the ones inspired by the classic duffle coat, which are probably the most special ones.

You can view the complete line here.
