Tender for The Hill-Side, Type 129TH-S Jeans

Tender The Hill Side 1 Tender for The Hill Side, Type 129TH S Jeans

The guys at Tender let us know about this collaborative effort with accessory favourites The Hill-Side. The type 129TH-Sis regular, slim cut jean with a straight leg. 17oz Japanese selvage denim made its way to Leicester, England, where it was cut n’ sewn, contrast stitch to be precise.

The Hill-Side have added touches with selvage ticking lining and carry case. Additionally we’re informed, “The Hill-Side label is sewn in behind the right back pocket. This is where Union labels on early 20th-Century American workwear were sewn, supposedly so that workers would think of the Union whenever they reached for their wallet, and so remember to pay their dues.” On a very limited run of just 10, you’ll have to be fast on this one. Find them at Hickorees.

Tender Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

tender ss12 01 Tender Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

We continue to follow the progress of British label Tender, a favourite and the sort of  brand that comes with a warm, caring feeling around it and not just because of the name (Tender is also a reference to the truck which carried coal on a locomotive, check the backdrop).

Keeping hands on with the entire production process, everything’s researched, designed and carefully crafted so the finish product will survive the rigours of life on the railway or tube, whichever you generally find yourself on. Dye, denim and cotton are their staples, see what they’ve done with them for the summer months.

tender tee 013 Tender Woad Dyed T shirt

Tender, expert indigo dyers, offer this curved hem, short sleeved t-shirt. These loopwheeled cloth shirts are produced in the UK and sent winging off  to the South of France to be dyed using organic Woad, a flowering plant that has been used to dye various shades of blue for hundreds of  years. The cuffed sleeves are a nice touch with this, as is the contrast stitching. Find it at Superdenim.

Tender Leather Belt Pouch

04 October 2011, 14.00 | Posted in Accessories | No comments »

Tender Leather Belt Pouch

A nice little belt pouch from Tender. We understand some may be reluctant to hang their wallets from their waist. Most of us have lived through the age of the bumbag and the clip-on mobile phone trouser holster. Dark days indeed. However Tender have made the seemingly unacceptable, acceptable. Handmade with gold snaps, white stitching and double belt loop, both attractive and practical, access to your oyster card/loose change/dry cleaning ticket in approximately 2.3 seconds. Need Supply has it.

Tender Bias Cut Trews

Selectism - tender-type-133-trews-01

We like Tender. We like Orange trousers (odd thing to like, but it’s true). We like straight leg trousers (they’re a nice antidote to all the slim fit ones in our wardrobe). So us liking these Tender orange straight leg trews was as obvious as, errrmmm, something really obvious. Sorry, it’s early and the bad joke machine in our brains hasn’t quite kicked in yet. What do you call it, a jersey t-shirt? What do you call it a short sleeved sweatshirt? Whatever you call it, it’s a great piece that’s actually suited for July. And it’s made by Tender, who slowly turning into an SL favourite. (Hickorees)

Tender Wire Buckle Belts

Tender, a lifestyle collection from Somerset, England shows us their approach on the processes of leather tanning.”Tenders belts are cut from oak bark leather and tanned in east devon on the banks of the river Coly where leather has been made by largely unchanged methods since roman times. This traditional oak bark tannage takes up to 18 months.” With a strong attention to detail, Tender hand cuts and stitches each piece. Unionmade has them.

Selectism - tender-autumn-2011-01

UK denim brand Tender are one of my favourite new brands out, we like what they do and how they do it. So when we got a look at their collection we decided to look a bit deeper and ask William Kroll, Tender’s founder, a few questions about the collection. Pictures of the collection and the resulting Q&A are after the leap.

Tender for Goodhood Store

selectism - Tender for Goodhood Store

More special pants today.

These Type 130 Jeans (a slim straight) from British denim brand Tender, are exclusive to Goodhood. The store shares, “When we first met founder William Kroll, we were impressed with his devotion to his art. As he took us through the design principles of his products we were equally impressed with his ingenuity and passion for details and processes. The jeans are made from 16oz Japanese denim with a mini blue selvedge – seriously hefty denim. Triple stitching and re-enforced seams give the jeans a workwear look but it’s not just for visual effect – even the pocket bags are made from selvedge calico to stop wearing out!”

Full detailed images after the leap.
