Our friends at Tenue de Nimes worked with one of Japan’s oldest denim makers, Big John, on a pair of natual indigo denim. The slim tapered fit of the Big John M1002 from 1967 made from a 14.5 oz jeans fabric gets a re-work for 2012. Using the bright blue “Ruri” color, the Big John x Tenue de Nimes denim also pays homage to 60’s Cone Mills with a yellow selvedge line.

Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nimes is non-stop with their in-house collaborative works. They work local this time around with the Travelteq bag company on this limited edition laptop tote bag in a deep cognac leather. The laptop bag contains eight compartments for all your necessary goods. There is even the popular cigar pocket they’re Dutch – what do you expect? The selvedge chambray hits work well on the bag form. Fits a 15inch laptop.

This summer, Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nimes delivered a well received hand dyed indigo Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Low. The sold out of the short run in no time. We heard talk that they would be back again in high-top form and here they are. As Highsnobiety tells us, “50 pairs of the shoes were dyed by the Manabe family from Okoyama – owners of Japanese denim label Momotaro and the Rampuya dyeing factory. The shoes, each of which is unique and hand-numbered, will be available November 26th at Tenue de Nimes.”

The good folks at Tenue de Nimes just worked over a very nice collaborative garment with the Armor Lux line. Armor Lux continues to press forward with exceptional garments. As TdN’s Menno van Meurs tells us, “We teamed up with French knitwear brand Armor Lux to co-created a limited edition ‘Dutch Breton’ interlock shirt referring to the red, white and blue from the Dutch and French flag.” A great garment for everyman. Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nimes continue to develop special project for their clients. The lastest is a 12 run of duck canvas jeans with the help of William Krol at Tender Co. Whole dyed cotton fabric as used in the production phase of the jeans. The weight comes in at 15oz – the same weight canvas used in tarp and sea bag production.

Dutch denim boutique Tenue de Nîmes have teamed with English shoemaker Grenson for a third time, creating a limited run of what they call the ‘Whole cut Gibson.’ The upper of the shoe has been fashioned from a single cut of brilliant white nubuck leather, hence the name, and features no visible seams, albeit the stitched-on eyelet facings in a deep, contrasting blue. In addition to the accents provided by the tongue and panel that follows the lace track, a blue backstrap has been included down the length of the heel; should you turn over the shoe, you’ll reveal a blue hand-painted sole bearing the marks of both brands, the Grenson rose and the Tenue de Nîmes ‘cross.’ -jr

Batten down the hatches everyone, Tenue De Nimes have been collaborating again! This time they’ve reunited with Grenson to create these grey nubuck brogues. They’re so handsome you’ll want to slap your mum for having not bought these for you as a kid. Although that would be senseless violence because they didn’t exist back then.

Canada’s Naked & Famous denim house goes head to head with AMS’s own Tenue de Nimes for a special 24 pair run of 13oz green rope-dyed repro denim. They have a vintage army feel to them. “Specific attention has been paid to matching the shade of green perfectly. The mid-green color proved a particular challenge since the dye is very unstable, but the hard work has paid off, giving us a beautiful and truly inspired color.” Well done fellas. Available online.
