Sasquatchfabrix for the Inoue Brothers Cardigan

Sasquatchfabrix are one of our favourite brands. The Inoue Brothers are one of our favourite brands. So what happens when you mix those two together? You get a post about it. And some clothes, including this cardigan. The oversized cardigan is always a fiddily one to wear – do you use it as a layer or a jacket? – this one works well as a makeshift jacket. LN-CC has them.

We covered this impressive Japanese collaboration a while back, the coming together of SASQUATCHfabrix and The Inoue Brothers to produce something unusual, modern and beautifully crafted. Incredibly rare fabrics and fibres found in South America via Inoue styled by the Tokyo-centric SASQUATCH, this is ‘Modern Ninja and the Black Fist’. Progressive London store LN-CC bring us this video of the opening night of the collection and speak to the guys behind this superb line.

Sasquatchfabrix and The Inoue Brothers collaboration

Selectism - inoue-brothers-sasquatchfabrix-collab-01

The Inoue Brothers (who we’ve done a feature on) have teamed with another brand we like, Sasquatchfabrix, to create this capsule collection of knitwear. As you can see, it’s a collaboration in the purest sense of two companies bringing what they do best and merging it. Not just the lazy old ’slap your fabric on top of my existing design and call it a collab’ nonsense we see every other day.

The collection itself is a couple of jumpers, a cardigan and some scarves – all mixing in Inoue’s knowledge of knitwear and the design touches we like from Sasquatchfabrix. Take a look for yourself after the leap. (LN-CC)

Selectism - inoue-brothers-t-shirt-01

The Inoue Brothers, who we did a feature on not so long ago, have their spring/summer 2011 collection out in stores now. Our pick of the collection is this beaded t-shirt which, aside from being made ethically and all that jazz, is just a nice tee. (LN-CC)

selectism - selectism Feature | A Conversation with The Inoue Brothers

Switching gears after two super fashion spreads, Jason Dike sinks his teeth into ethical fashion with our latest feature, “A Conversation with The Inoue Brothers.” With production in South American and South Africa, and a debut at Dover Street Market, the “Scandi-Asian” brothers have a lot to talk about. Find out what they had to say here.

Video | Ubuntu – The Tale

The folks from Style Salvage recently interviewed the Inoue Brothers about their upcoming Ubuntu project and now here’s the accompanying video. At 11 minutes it’s rather long for an internet video, but it’s definitely worth the watch – so grab a coffee and set some time aside for this.

The Inoue Brothers Autumn/Winter 2010

Selectism - inoue-brothers-autumn-2010-01

The Fader turns us onto the Inoue Brothers Autumn lookbook and it’s…not quite what we expected. In a good way. We’d always assumed that fall lookbooks had to take place in the woods – Preferably with some surly bearded 20 year old moping around like someone stole his kittens. But apparently not, as The Inoue Brothers display a distinctly Laurence of Arabia vibe for their autumn/winter 2010 collection. Our favourite piece remains the bobbled cardigan (pictured above), but the rest of the collection is worth a gander as well.
Take a leap, see more shots.

The Inoue Brothers Autumn/Winter 2010 Chunky Bubble Cardigan

Skipping that awkward spring knitwear collection, The Inoue Brothers have returned with their Autumn/Winter 2010 range. While most of their collection is best appreciated in the flesh, we felt we should draw special attention to this bubble knit cardigan. An eco-friendly company, The Inoue Brothers avoid the guilt trip and focus on creating desirable clothing with high quality materials. Each piece is hand made by a team of Bolivian knitters, using alpaca wool and andean highland wool to create a cardigan that’s both soft and warm – something we can’t say for many of our favourite brands. As for the cardigan itself, the shawl collar is reassuringly thick and the bubble pattern makes this a step up from the other shawl collar cardies doing the rounds. It’ll be available around August at Dover Street Market.

Selectism - The Inoue Brothers Autumn/Winter 2009

Denmark’s The Inoue Brothers offer a bright looks for their Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. “The Inoue Brothers was founded in 2004 by Japanese brothers  Satoru and Kiyoshi Inoue – born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark.alpaca (Peru, Bolivia and Chile), spun the remarkable fibre to produce luxurious fabrics exclusively for their divine royalty. ..The Inoue Brothers have focused on continually using original fibres from South America; The Pima Cotton,  Andes Highland Wool, Alpaca and Baby-Alpaca.”  A fresh take on the color of the Andes.

the inoue brothers autumn 2009 collection 01 The Inoue Brothers Autumn/Winter 2009

The Inoue Brothers consist of, unsurprisingly, two brothers called Satoru & Kiyoshi Inoue. The Japanese duo were born and raised in Denmark, founded the company in 2004 and call their design ‘Scandinasian’.The brothers work with a network of traditional Bolivian knitters, where the product is hand-made using Alpaca wool. The collection will be available from Dover Street Market later on this year.

Take a look at the rest of collection after the jump.
