Looks like The Selby was down in Brasil. The photographer and all around fan of interiors visits the apartment home of fashion designer, Alexandre Herchcovitch, in San Paolo, Brasil. This may well be one of my favorite The Selby profiles in some time. Herchcovitch (and Fabio Souza) left the interior walls of their apartment unfinished. Unlike most white-walled homes that use art and objects as the primary focal point of the eye, Herchcovitch’s are of a rough finished – plaster cracks and chipping remains untouched – which complement the objects. Check that vintage collection as well.

The Selby, who’s been racking up collabs and campaigns at the pace of Usain Bolt, just showcased his latest collaboration, a campaign for Dockers. According to the man himself, “the idea behind the shoots was to make a series of photos of stylish Bay Area guys living the dream and doing what they love.”

The Selby stopped in for a visit to the Litchfield, CT home of  writer, Glenn O’Brien and wife, Gina Nanni. (T Magazine did a similar photo profile of their home back in 2008). What you get from the Selby of course is a close-up look at almost everything and inspires the owners of the home as well – from old books to the full pool in the rear of the home. The hand written interviews toward the end add to the flavor of the photo essay.

A while back we reported about Louis Vuitton’s “Journey of a Man’s Wardrobe”, shot by The Selby. After Paris the journey moves on to Shanghai and Tokyo. The Selby documents some interesting personalities in both cities, including Verbal and Tatsuya Matsui, as well as the Louis Vuitton offices and flagship stores in both cities.

Our friends at En Avant point us to a great photo essay from photographer Todd Selby showcasing the inner workings of Lanvin’s Lucas Ossendrijver workroom. “[Selby] finds a way to capture creatives in their most natural state, showcasing various facets of their work while answering interesting questions in a playful format. Nicola Formichetti turns us onto a Telegraph piece where they tour his house and interview him. The Selby-esque piece asks the renowned stylist some interesting questions about his background, views on fashion and his toy collection. An interesting insight into how he operates in when he’s asked whether his home reflects his interest in fashion.

I try to keep my clothing and fashion stuff in one room, so that on the rare occasions when I am not working, I can switch off and rest.

The Selby has been known for capturing quirky households for a while now, but there are a few occasions when he settles for an office or a place of work. This was the case with Colette owner Sarah Lerfel, who was photographed around her store instead of her home. The pictures are all top notch in this collection, but with Colette being such a photogenic location, you could say that making good pictures there is an easy task.
