They have dropped. Opening Ceremony keeps rolling with the collaborations – this time we get some work with Timberland. Two models get the work through and are available now as part of a two day special pre-order. “For this limited capsule collection, we customized two different signature Timberland styles. The first is a spin on Timberland’s familiar 6-Inch Boot featuring an unexpected and sporty elastic lacing. These Convenience Boots come with two sets of interchangeable laces: one version matching the boot, and a second neon version.”

On September 9, 2009, Timberland will debut a new premium hand-sewn collection at Saks Fifth Avenue. The New York retailer has partnered with the New Hampshire based Timberland to introduce a select collection of styles produced in the Dominican Republic (note: all hand-sewn Timberland’s are made in the DR). A special pop-up shop will be in place at Saks during New York Fall Fashion week. After that, look for the collection to land at Sak’s flagship locations around the United States.

More from (capsule) this afternoon. The Timberland mainline collection for Spring 2010 features three boots which sway from the normal offering the New Hampshire puts out there. They look to pull a bit from the “Boot Company” collection into their mainline, so much in fact that one could be confused. The best way to tell is to look for the missing Vibram sole.

A quick preview of what is on tap for Timberland’s Abington Collection next spring. While many more shoes are coming from the line, the above two are confirmed. We’ll have further updates and previews in the coming days.

As much as love that Timberland’s making a comeback, we’re not ready to hop on that bandwagon yet. It might be that we remember a deluge of pregnant 15 year-olds in hot pink ones or folks wearing them to clubs as dress wear, but we still can’t shake off our mental associations.

Right now we’re much more partial to this pair of deck boots. Deck boots have been an emerging style lately, but these are sturdy, hard-wearing and they’ll look a little bit cooler the timb’s work boot. Isn’t that what we all want really? (Herring Shoes)

Our housemates, Curated, sat down with Timberland’s president, Gene McCarthy, to discuss the opening of their Nature of a City buildout in NYC. “On February 13, Timberland opened their newest storefront at 474 Broadway, New York City. The shop is designed to promote the Timberland experience, and in that venture they partnered withpowerHouse for an exhibition of photographs curated by Sara Rosen.”

Check this 7-eyelet chukka from Timberland Japan. It’s tonal leather finish uses suede to accentuate the dark browns for a fantastic finish. Outfit coordination should not be an issue with these though finding them outside Japan may be problematic. Available at Zozo.
