The Rogues Gallery Tote is simply one of the most durable totes on the market. I gave a red leather version of this tote to a special someone this past Christmas. Since then, I have not seen her without her tote. So, it is no surprise to me to see J. BBlessing will be dropping two gentleman friendly laptop bags for Autumn/Winter 2009. The slim form leather bags allow for you to drop your laptops into a suede lines interior pocket with just enough room for some paperwork or maybe a map. They will be available in two colors – black or brown – keeping them simple clean, and functional.

Tote or backpack? That’s the question writers and bloggers are asking themselves. Our thoughts? backpack all the way. They’re easier to work with, just put it on your back and you’re done. We’re a little pedantic about the details, so we prefer it hanging off one shoulder as opposed to the ’straight from school’ look. Tote bags are the sort of item that looks great in a fashion editorial, but fussy and annoying in real life. With that said, we still appreciate a good tote bag when we see it.

These ones are part of the ongoing Limoland/Yoshida Porter collab that we’ve been previewing lately. Like the other bags, it’s a lot more subdued than what we’ve come to expect from Limoland and it’s all the better for it. Look for these to ‘drop’ around January.

Another great man tote is on the market. This one from the people at Italy’s Daniel & Bob. Take a look at the photo above. This tote is a total weekender. It’s larger enough to fill up for a long haul weekend. Smooth leather wraps the bag from handles to base. A nice look. (arks)

You might have noticed by now that we are big bag fans and in recent years the tote bag has become especially successful, also for men. A beautiful nylon tote bag is coming this season from Prada. The mix of nylon, suede bottom and brown leather details works really well, keeping the bag classic, yet not boring. Branding is kept to a minimum on the bag, with the Prada logo only appearing embossed on the suede parts of the bag. It is now available from Barneys.

Totes coming in strong now – from bank bag inspired bags to the normal traditional ones like this tote offering from Beams+.
