McNairy loves the collaborative works. And why not? Not only does it give his line the opportunity to extend its reach but also allow a few select partners to get some exclusives of their own. Take these Country Brogues for Scandinavia’s Tres Bien. “We wanted a classic English brogue only we wanted it in suede and we also wanted to give it a more sporty look. A classic shoe to match with your technical parka. Therefore we added the white, light weight foam sole. Goodyear welted of course.”

The best designs for cold weather knits usually come from people designing them in the cold lands of the world. Take these three gorgeous knits from Carin Wester. The Ingram Knit sweater comes in a bright orange or blue with a very "Swizz Alps" 1970’s kinda feel. The Ivan Knit is a high buttoned wool cardigan with some excellent details and highlights that should be seen in person to understand.

We take a look at some key pieces out of the Peter Jensen Fall/Winter 2008 collection. Our favorites are the Fox Knit Sweater and the Wool Duffle Coat. Both pieces are classics, smarly re-interpreted by the designer. The Fox Knit Sweater comes with a certain amount of humor infused, but also looks great. The Wool Duffle Coat comes with hood, big buttons, just how we like it. It also comes with a nice cut, perfect for the late Fall and Winter.

Modern Swedish fashion just keeps on rolling. Since finishing studies at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, Carin Wester has spent little time working for anyone but herself. In 2003, she launched her signature line and quickly received acclaim with “Designer of the Year” honors by Swedish ELLE.

Sweden’s Rickard Lindqvist “Assymetrical Cardigan” for S/S 08 may throw the balance off for some, but when but when buttoned closed, give the garment a bunched bulk feel. Some may try to warn you of a misguided buttoning technique. Others will appreciate the unique silhouette that such construction can bring. Available now at Tresbienshop.

Danish knitwear company SNS Herning has celebrated a pretty big comeback in 2007 and you just have to love their product. All knitted in Denmark, their trademark pieces are of superb quality – nice and heavy cotton.

Now the brand, after recently collaborating with Londons Doverstreet Market, got together with Tres Bien Shop. The store made a special purple/fushsia colorway of the SNS Herning button-up sweater. Limited to 9 signed and numbered pieces worldwide. Heavy knit with buttons from Danish SNS Herning. Made from 1,2 kilograms of pure new wool. The entire knit, except for the left arm, in dark purple. Left arm in strong fuchsia.
