Tretorn, a company that has been designing shoes for decades, shows us one of their classics. The “Nylite Canvas” tennis shoe was created in 1967 and was “regarded as the first luxury shorts shoe.” The shoe offers a natural canvas upper, classic gulllwing logo, textile lining/sockliner and a EcoOrthoLite insole. This shoe could add a sophisticated look to jeans, chinos and shorts. I’ve had one every summer for the last 5 years. A great shoe with many sock options. It’s offered at Tretorn.

Tretorn’s Obo will satisfy all wet weather needs – the mid height boot is handsomely made up with both water proof leather and a Gore-Tex lining. We’re hoping next Winter isn’t as rough, but we’re also excited for the potential of appropriate footwear that isn’t based on a rubber toe.

We showed you the black version. Now the olive greens look to have been released just in time for Christmas Eve. To get them today would require you being in Boston or Cambridge (Tannery, CONCEPTS, Wilderness Workshop). Yeah. We know. You hate the Celtics. Oh well. These green galoshes, officially called the “arsta” should work for you in any climate. Perfect for the wet weather. Well priced too.

Tretorn looks to be working hard these days on some galoshes collaborative works. Today they announce a new custom version of their Stråla Vinter rain boot for the ACE Hotel. 300 units of the rain boot are being produced for staff and guests – just in time for the weather approaching (at least in the Northern Hemisphere). “The low-cut rubber boots will be available in black with an ivy green trim and a tomato red outsole. One boot will feature the ‘Ace’ logo on the back heel, while the other will feature the ‘Tretorn’ logo. The phrase ‘Let’s Stand Together”’is printed on each boot footbed. The boots, designed especially for rainy climates, have a cozy microfleece lining, a sturdy grip rubber outsole and elastic goring for easily slipping on and off. Each pair also comes with a custom co-branded shoe bag.”

The price is right as well: $70.  Available through all ACE Hotels, their  online shop, Tretorn NYC shop, Blackbird, Context, Roden Gray, and Unionmade.

There’s a new outdoor/wilderness shop in Boston – not too far from the Bolyston Apple Store. The same Tannery which has inhabited Harvard Sq. for the last few decades, selling shoes and outdoor gear, expands on the latter with the Tannery Wilderness Workshop – a full sized outdoor shop in Back Bay that carries many brands also found in their Cambridge location.

It would seem they have been working on some special make-ups for the new market; starting off with this Golash with Tretorn. It’s a standard galosh finished the flat traditional look making them perfect for the guys. The pull tag on the back accents the overall look nicely. I think I need them – then again maybe Jason does.

Swedish brand Tretorn releases their seasonal rain boot the “Strala Vinter.” The slip on ankle boot comes insulated with “100% waterproof natural rubber.” The gum rubber outsole, “boa lining and footbed” make the boot. The boot is offered in four colorways and in different colors soles. If you’re looking for something that won’t get wet and is well made, this boot’s for you. From Tretorn.

These CdG sneakers I dig and what a proper brand to work with. “Classic Swedish footwear brand Tretorn has once again collaborated on a canvas sneaker. This is a classic model from Tretorn but is a bit modified by Comme.” Tres Bien has them.

Spotted at Project LV, the Tretorn T-56 GTX is a fully lined, slim silhouetted Gore-Tex sneaker. The tongue is fully gusseted, meaning even more water and cold protection. Originally conceived through collaboration with Stockholm-based retailer Sneakers and Stuff, the model (not surprisingly) comes direct from Tretorn’s 1956 catalog.

Not a new shoe for the line, but one that floated our boat.
