ts(s) is one of the more accessible Japanese lines on the market. They distribute throughout Europe as well as in North America. For those new to the line, try to get your hands on some of the garments as they come down to touch and fit (don’t they all). Wools work well throughout the collection including on their contrasting wingtip boots, which will work for many. The yarn work in the wool jackets are choice as well.

Japan’s ts(s) delivers their take on the chesterfield coat, which Por Vocacao lists as being made from “high end double face wool.” High end wool and all, the coat looks great and more than perfect for the mid height shopper. The coat features a ribbed shawl collar and double breasted closure. Did we mention the Italo-tweed?  We hope you still have some shopping to do.

Our friends at Por Homme deliver a wide look at the ts(s) collection for Spring/Summer 2011. We find a variety of new takes on suiting and blazers from the Japanese collection. Pinstriped collar jackets, denim jumpsuits, and wool blazers, mix up the modern style to keep it fresh rather than a return to the classic form. A very forward take on menswear from ts(s).

We’re as tired of the ____ on ____ on ____ phenomenon as anyone but it suits this piece. I mean how else would you describe this shirt other than stripes on stripes on stripes? And before we forget, ts(s) is made by the other Suzuki brother – which instantly makes it cool. (Por Vocacao)

Takuji Suzuki’s Autumn/Winter 2011 looks for ts(s) are a more fitted affair. While the looks remains in the same school as collection so the past – pulling from a heavy palette of men’s classics that have been re-worked for clean fits.” While the push forward comes only in cuts and fits, the collection works by layering for the season. The denim overcoat and corduroy work coat and vest are standout (above). (cs)

Here’s a blazer for the summer months. We love everything about ts(s) – bar the price tags – but that should be expected when buying a line that’s based in Japan. The world’s a global village until you have ship something, where it suddenly goes back to being very ‘ye olde world’. If you can get past the price tag, then it’s a great piece though. (Context)

It’s taken a while but ts(s) is now relatively widely available on Western shores. The upside is these great clothes are available. The downside is that people are seeing why it hasn’t been available for so long. While this is a great coat, we’d understand if you didn’t want to pay £1,100 for it. (The Bureau)

Jackets, in various patterns make up a good deal of the collection. Tartan, herringbone, and striped present the knits in the collection well – as does their neckwear and scarves that compliment many of the garbs. Takuji Suzuki’s ts(s) delivers their Spring/Summer 2011 looks. The contemporary line which pulls from the great catalog of American Heritage brings us post-industrial revolution fashion in the most modern of ways.  A wonderful collection filled with street proper wears for the gents. (8485)

From the looks of it, this Ts(s) house coat should be a soft and comfortable fit. “Translating to clothes the “unpredictableness with dignity” he is known for, designer Takuji Suzuki brings us a two button Country House Jacket as part of the ts(s) AW10 collection. In a casual approach to a formal piece of garment, this Raised Linen Irregular Herringbone blazer displays a sense of taste only to be seen at close up.” Porvacacao has them.
