uniqlo undercover spring summer 2012 1 UNIQLO, Undercover Collection for Spring/Summer 2012 Looks

March 16, 2012 sees the delivery of the first collaborative collection from UNIQLO and Undercover, two very well known Japanese labels that come together for a family style affair, as seen in their lookbook. We take a look at the individual garments in the collection that vary from styles leather jackets, plaid shirts, to straight leg casual trousers. This is a very different collection from the previous UNIQLO work with +J. From Undercover’s side, this collection is simply nothing like their work with Nike on Gyakusou. Let us know your thoughts on the collection. Available through all UNIQLO locations.

View looks at the styles from the forthcoming UNIQLO, Undercover collection for Spring/Summer 2012.

UNIQLO Heattech Long Johns

Selectism - uniqlo-heattech-long-johns-01

Yep, it’s time to start thinking about Long Johns. We’ve seen some rather, shall we say, OTT long john designs lately. One hand, who’s gonna see it? On the other hand, we’re not into the off duty circus performer look. Call us dull but we’re sticking with the plain grey on this one. (Uniqlo)

+J Heavy Gauge V Neck Cardigan

Selectism - +J-cardigan-01

We don’t think we’ve paid enough attention to the new +J range. We do love the tailoring in the range but the slouchy stuff isn’t to be overlooked. Take this cardigan for instance. It’s as handsome as they come and, given the comfiness, a prime candidate for partner thievery. Just sleep with one eye open when you purchase this. (Uniqlo)

A Look Inside UNIQLO’s New Global Flagship on Fifth Ave., NYC

12 October 2011, 18.00 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

An Inside Look at UNIQLO's New Global Flagship on Fifth Ave., NYC

You would except that the largest flagship shop from Japanese basics/fashion brand, UNIQLO would reside somewhere in Tokyo. Truth is, it will reside inNew York City. The “new” global flagship from UNIQLO, opening this Friday morning on Fifth Ave, is the largest build-out in the company’s history.

Designed by Wonderwall (you know the name), the new UNIQLO shop will be the largest single retailer on Fifth Ave. with more than 89,000 square feet of retail space across three floors. Those familiar with the UNIQLO SOHO location and the congestion that fills it during the busy weekend, will want to explore the new Fifth Ave location. The retail space is open and wide for shopping and browsing. More than 200 LCD and LED screens throughout the new store will deliver UNIQLO styled looks and more.

The UNIQLO Fifth Ave. opening has been blitzed hard in the media for months now and Friday will be a exceptional day for the retailer. Those looking for store opening specials will be pleased to hear that their basic v-neck cashmere sweater will sell for $50 (down from the normal $99) and Japanese denim lovers will want to be quick to lock in a pair of slim or straight denim for $9.99. That’s right: $9.99.

See you Friday.

Uniqlo +J Double Breasted Blazer

08 September 2011, 18.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Selectism - uniqlo-plus-j-double-breasted-blazer

Haven’t you heard? Back for the last time, +J is out today. We could go over all the pieces but that’s basic blogger stuff (no word to Kreayshawn). Instead we’ll focus on our favourite item from the collection, this double breasted blazer. It’s peaked and flapped and, most importantly, will make the wearer look like a bawse. Which is all we want from our double breasted blazers. (Uniqlo)

UNIQLO Taps UNDERCOVER for Collaboration

UNIQLO Taps UNDERCOVER

Some serious excitement will come from this one. The word on the blogs (well Jun Takahashi’s direct) is that Undercover will be working with UNIQLO on a future project collaboration. The word is that it will actually drop this year and run through (at least) 2012. More as we get it.

Uniqlo Autumn/Winter 2011

Selectism - uniqlo-autumn-2011-01

Porhomme turns us onto Uniqlo’s latest lookbook. Uniqlo looks to have fallen behind in recent times, overtaken by the mass of brands making chinos and oxfords that bit better than Uniqlo makes them. Has Stella got her groove back? See for yourself after the leap.
