Veilance by Arcteryx "SS01" Field Blazer

Arcteryx has been pushing the envelope with their release of the Veilance Collection. With a strong emphasis on design and textile science, the company has been gaining lots of attention in the world of menswear. A refined take on a timeless piece the company offers their take on the blazer. The “SS01 Field Blazer” brings the technical styles of the company with a more urban styling and fit. The jacket offers a windstopper fabric with “brushed tricot backer, taped micro seams and vision zipper front.” The gusseted underarms and leakproof hand and chest pockets allow for added protection. The coal collar adds for a nice medium in between the seasons. It’s available at TheTannery.

Selectism - Arcteryx Veilance Stealth Shirt for Spring 2010

The SH03 “Stealth” shirt from the Arcteryx Veilance line (which itself has been a bit rogue) is a great technical garment for those more than hot days. “Designed with hot weather in mind, Stealth shirting from Arc’teryx’s Veilance line reinterprets more staple garments with the collection’s clean, innovative approach to design. Protection’s always been paramount with Arc’teryx’s output, and while the slim cut offers a perfect fit, the short-sleeved version of the Stealth Shirt guards the wearer from their own body temperature.” Find it now through the handful (literally) of shops worldwide stocking Veilance.

Arc’teryx Veilance Blazer

Selectism - Arc'teryx Veilance Blazer

The Arc’teryx Veilance collection may well be one of the most difficult to hunt down. With less than a handful of doors in the USA (more internationally), we’ll suggest you hunt around for these garments. The line pushes Arc’teryx into a zone occupied by very few brands. Technical tailored men’s garments may not be a new thing but the segment is wide opening for offering such as Veilance. Take a look at this blazer from the collection.

“As with every Veilance piece, a perfect fit is paramount, and every detail of the Blazer has been scrutinised and redefined with any unnecessary elements stripped away. Rethinking outerwear’s role in an everyday existence micro seam by micro seam and unlocking its unlimited potential, this project will push things forward this year.” (photo: Neil Bedford)
