Margaret Howell and architect William Mann take us for a walk along the River Lea in South East London. Part of Open House London, an event which allows the public access to some of the cities most celebrated and historic buildings and spaces, the Margaret Howell store on Wigmore Street will also show a series of photographs of the area by Philipp Ebeling and Jason Orton.

Levi’s have just released this little video giving a short overview of the 501. Talking to the designer Alex, who doesn’t look uncomfortable in any way, they show off what makes the 501 iconic and do a little fit description with their updated 501. It’s, errmm, interesting, that’s all we’ll say.

A beautiful video by Buffalo Picture House; two young filmmakers wander the sodden streets of Manhattan as Hurricane Irene (later downgraded to a Tropical Storm) wades through the city of New York. This black and white offering spans a mere 1 minute 18 seconds, yet manages to convey an almost alien sense of serenity in one of the US’ busiest cities, an emotive gem. -jr
