Watch | Mister Freedom – L’hirondelle du Faubourg

Mister Freedom revisits Paris of the 1900s with this nice little video showcasing pieces from their current collection.  Comedic fisticuffs and suspicious lurking, the Apaches may cut ya as soon as look at ya but there’ll do it dressed in their finest. As ever, MF have really done their homework when it comes  to this collection, repros can be serious business but it’s nice to see a brand willing to keep things a bit light-hearted.

Video | Stringer Bell talks London Olympics 2012

London 2012 have asked part time Baltimore badman and part time East End tortured detective Idris Stringer Luther Elba to talk a little about his home town of Hackney and the arrival of the Olympic games.

The film’s a bit slapdash which is kind of why we like it. Idris does his best to get you all excited about the Olympics, possibly because in typical London fashion, a lot of cynicism is flying about with this event and everyone’s scared of being trampled by white elephants or something to that effect. Click on and see if this sparks a bit of enthusiam.

Louis Vuitton’s New Timekeeper on Nowness.com.

Nowness gives a nice behind the scenes look at the French luxury brand’s business in watch making, which they take like all things, very serious.

“Louis Vuitton unveils the inner workings of its new 18-karat white gold timepiece, the Tambour Minute Repeater, a collaboration with Swiss master horologists La Fabrique du Temps. True to the brand’s renown for handcrafted luxury travel accessories, Louis Vuitton’s Tambour employs complex mechanics to display one time while being able, upon request, to chime an alternative ‘home’ time.”

Coggles have been snapping the good folk of London for some time now. While street style blogs currently take up *27% of the internet, it’s nice to see a little more in-depth investigation into the more stylish subjects.

With that in mind the store set about picking their favourites for a series of skillfully shot films. We’re introduced to the well dressed Olubiyi, a student at Central St Martins whose work is heavily influenced by his hero Jean-Michel Basquiat. Film director Terry Hall catches the man at work.

*unofficial figures.

Notcot lets us know about this video, which showcases a mosaic look at the sky over the course of a year. Here’s how Ken Murphy, the creator of the video did it. “A camera installed on the roof of the Exploratorium museum in San Francisco captured an image of the sky every 10 seconds. From these images, I created a mosaic of time-lapse movies, each showing a single day. The days are arranged in chronological order. My intent was to reveal the patterns of light and weather over the course of a year.”

03. Scot Sothern’s Intimate Portraits of Prostitutes [NSFW]

“Streetwalkers and addicts with “desperation-induced madness” in their eyes, stripping and posing in motels, alleyways, and squats, all to make a few bucks — these are the illustrated pages of Scot Sothern’s diary, recalling each exchange in detail. Surely, with his writerly instincts, he gravitated toward them with a similar rush.” (flavorwire)
