Viktor & Rolf Deconstructed Blazer

Viktor and Rolf offer us this relaxed take on the blazer. Loose fit, double breasted, we’re digging the grey flecked fabric and neat breast pocket. Find it at Mr Porter.

Video | Viktor & Rolf “Battle for the Sun”

“Fashion often presents us with other worlds and alternative realities, but design duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have created their own galaxy for autumn/winter 2011. In it, scarlet-faced warrior queens march out to do battle, in preparation for a war against beauty, to a soundtrack of ratcheting drumbeats and soaring strings.” (AnOther)

Viktor & Rolf Leather Loafer in Black

Viktor & Rolf Black Patent Leather Loafer

Some more jute soles… this time from the Viktor & Rolf house. This patent black leather loafer is accented with a jute mid-sole. While it may not work for all, it is unique to a small crowd. I personally like it. Almost adds a casual element to the form. Italo-made, of course. Fwd has them.

Viktor & Rolf Oversized Messenger Bag

Viktor & Rolf Oversized Messenger Bag

For me, personally, you either do it big with messengers or you don’t. The classic messenger was meant to be filled and stuff for easy travel. Small doesn’t cut it. When this big-boy from Viktor & Rolf came around, it seems the perfect take. Leather and all leather. “Oversized textured leather messenger bag in black with tonal nylon trim. Removable adjustable nylon shoulder strap. Foldover flap with embossed logo and exposed zip pocket at front. Partially concealed zip main compartment closure.” ssense has them.

Viktor & Rolf Sweatpants

selectism - viktor-rolf-sweatpants-01

Remember a couple of years ago when designers were racing to make the best shawl neck? Well, this year the piece to make is the sweatpant. Throwing their hat into the ring this time are Viktor & Rolf, who’s name is now alongside the likes of Band of Outsiders and RRL in the sweatpant stakes. All the sweatpants we’ve seen so far have followed the same brief – slim cut, light grey – and this one is no different. Our only worry is that someone with thunderthighs (i.e, us) could easily look like they’re exposing far too much if the cut’s a little too slim. (The Corner)

Wallpaper* reports in on Viktor & Rolf’s never ending push to spread fashion across varying spectrums. “This month the pair turn to Opera, dressing performers for a production of Carl Maria von Weber’s, Der Freischütz… Visionary director Robert Wilson will, on the 30th May, present his interpretation of Weber’s seminal work in Germany’s largest opera house, the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden.”

Samonsite Black Label by Viktor & Rolf Boarding Bag

samsonite black label viktor rolf bag Samonsite Black Label by Viktor & Rolf Boarding Bag

Another bag collaboration hit stores today as the Viktor & Rolf collaboration with Samonsite  is available from Browns. This is certainly more grown up than the Raf Simons/Eastpak collab – although given Samonsite’s usual customer would be around their mid-thirties, that’s to be expected. The bag has an interesting shape that seems to straddle between a bowling bag and a vintage doctor’s holdall. Get it from Browns.

WWD reports in on news of Runway gone Internet.
