Highsnobiety gives their take on the Warriors of Radness x Opening Ceremony Capsule collection: Beach Crew! “The line offers a series of shirts, tank tops, t-shirts, crewneck sweaters and more for both men and women. Of course, knowing Warriors of Radness, most pieces comes in bright colors and we also like the graphical work done on the series.” Proper fun in the sun.

Slightly NSFW, but it’s Friday…

Ah yeah. The good weather is almost here for most of North America (and I dont want to hear any gushing from the Cali crew). With Spring right around the corner, it’s about time we get a look at the forthcoming Warrior of Radness collection for 2011. I think our team, more than any loves this brand – be it Mr. Klotz’s roots in a world wrapped around street fashion with his no-label brand, or the fact that GQ has him up for the CFDA – no designer deserves this nomination more. Big respect.
Warriors of Radness continues to provide some of the most laid back, almost effortless, beach and surf wear on the market today. The garments tell the story well beyond the shores. This is modern casual.
After the click, exclusive first-looks from their look book shoot. Individual looks tomorrow as well…

We’ve been fans of WOR for a LONG time. The initial interest remains, and each seasons brings its own quirks. A preview of Autumn 2011 includes “Surf Punks and Street Rats, denim pullovers, WOR Radio, P.O.P. Pier R.I.P, trench coats, logo sweats, colored jean jackets, muscle pants, oversized whatever, never not summer, make waves not war, ocean camoflauge, WET magazine, Indian Burn, loose sweatshirts, overdyed blue jeans, salt water washes, Hawaiian shirts, surf Vietnam, Gantez Warrior, Pacific Coast Highway, the southern hemisphere, the GLSA, WOR Records, beach riots, yeeeaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!” Rick Klotz’s words are too spot on to edit.

We’ve been on the W.O.R. tip for some time and we’re not alone. Warriors appeared on the cusp of a new appreciation for what many call surf. Truth is that would be a compartmentalizing their message. W.O.R. is bigger than one “labeling” term and they continue to prove this with their Autumn 2010 offering. “The Fall 2010 Warriors of Radness collection is now in stores. New items include oversized sweatshirts, pleated baggy cotton pants, pullover anoraks in various fabrics, corduroy, trench coats, sweatpants, jacquard knit shirts and much much more, including new radical t-shirt prints. The summer never ends. It just gets a little colder.”

At Selectism, we’ve been fans of Warriors of Radness longer than most. The surf-inspired lines brand of humor and style continues to have great appeal, and their latest collaborative product finds the guys working with John’s of Japan. A simple name, John’s WOR, titles a simple collection of 1970s surf inspired garments. Colors are muted and subtle, all products are made in Los Angeles.
We’re fond on the Cord Walk Shorts, which come in three color options ranging from quite bold to a gray that even John Major might find appropriate. For those bolder of heart, the collaboration also features a richly printed trio of Tribal Walk Shorts.
Find the printed pairs after the jump, and find the entire collection at Reserve LA.

Selectism favorite, Warriors of Radness, passes over some looks at their Spring 2010 collection. Check the looks below but if you like some tunes while you browse, be sure to visit the online lookbook and hear “Gidget Goes to Hell” by The Suburban Lawns. Kinda sets the mood we think to a line which tries not to target surf for the casualness of it all.

May we remind you that we previewed the Spring/Summer 2009 collection from LA’s Warriors of Radness not too long ago? Their anti-surf inspired goods have hit better stores worldwide – from Opening Ceremony L.A. And N.Y, Oak Brooklyn, Reserve Los Angeles, Fred Segal Man in Santa Monica. “The Warriors mindset stands in direct opposition to all things ’surf industry’, the bastion of narrow minded cookie cutter corporate mediocrity spawned out of Orange County.”
