Hodinkee discovered this classic Hermes branded Universal Geneve chronograph. The little brother to the Patek Philippe line in the 1940’s, Universal Geneve created an assortment of co-branded timepieces well before the modern trend in co-headline accessories. Worth a deeper looks ove on Hodinkee.

A few things make this Volvo Ocean Race edition special: the first titanium case on this model as well as a black carbon fiber dial. While we carbon fiber is over-played, the overall finish on this chrono is strong. Finished in a 45mm titanium case.

Yoshida (you know, Porter) works a special strap bracelet for he watch in celebration of 77 years of the Yoshida Kaban dynasty. Undoubtedly  a clean look, the watch pulls elements from British Royal Airforce to make it all their own. Perpetuelle discusses the new Calibre 11 watch from TAG Heuer. “According to Calibre 11, this watch is ‘based on the traditional 39mm Monaco case, and like other Vintage Monaco editions, uses the Heuer logo and has the crown on the left-hand side of the case.’  In Switzerland, the McQueen Calibre 11 price will be CHF 7,700. Beautiful and clean racing blues on this one.

Seiko Japan delivered this excellent Seiko Active Matrix EPD Digital Watch back in December 2010. Since then, it looks to be a scarce find as most retailers are sold out on the unit. Nevertheless, you should be able to pick them up on the third party market.

What makes this Seiko special are the five active matrices display styles on its EPD (Electrophoretic display). It goes further by using radio wave automatic adjustments to keep time using the official atomic standard available in Japan, Germany, England and the United States. The display is highly readable.

Not stopping there, the Seiko Active Matrix EPD also features Home and World time views for those on the road. Stainless steel finished it off nicely. Nerd level goodness. Tip: mw.

Zep’s Titeuf gets the special treatment from Jaeger-LeCoultre for a new edition Reverso on the 80th anniversary of the watch model. Zep, who hails from Switzerland, took inspiration from a factory tour of the Jaeger-LeCoultre site. Proper engraving is found on the front and case-back. “The unique Reverso customized by Zep in enamel and pink gold will be auctioned on November 29, 2011 in Paris for the benefit of “Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.” (tz)
