Vintage Hermes Chronograph by Universal Geneve

Hodinkee discovered this classic Hermes branded Universal Geneve chronograph. The little brother to the Patek Philippe line in the 1940’s, Universal Geneve created an assortment of co-branded timepieces well before the modern trend in co-headline accessories. Worth a deeper looks ove on Hodinkee.

Perpetuelle leads with a look at this special Volvo Ocean Race edition of the UWC Portguese Yacht Club chrono. A few things make this Volvo Ocean Race edition special: the first titanium case on this model as well as a black carbon fiber dial. While we carbon fiber is over-played, the overall finish on this chrono is strong. Finished in a 45mm titanium case.

omega seamaster terra golf watch 1 Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Golf Watch

Is there a golfer in your life looking for a new wrist ornament? Consider the new stainless steel, 41.5mm Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Golf edition. The black dial does it for us as do the 18kt white gold index points. Internal changes span out to help decrease maintenance checks over four years. We dig it. (tz)

TAG Heuer, Steve McQueen Calibre 11 Watch

Perpetuelle discusses the new Calibre 11 watch from TAG Heuer. “According to Calibre 11, this watch is ‘based on the traditional 39mm Monaco case, and like other Vintage Monaco editions, uses the Heuer logo and has the crown on the left-hand side of the case.’  In Switzerland, the McQueen Calibre 11 price will be CHF 7,700. Beautiful and clean racing blues on this one.

Seiko Active Matrix EPD Digital Watch

06 September 2011, 19.30 | Posted in Watches | No comments »

Seiko Active Matrix EPD Digital Watch

Seiko Japan delivered this excellent Seiko Active Matrix EPD Digital Watch back in December 2010. Since then, it looks to be a scarce find as most retailers are sold out on the unit. Nevertheless, you should be able to pick them up on the third party market.

What makes this Seiko special are the five active matrices display styles on its EPD (Electrophoretic display). It goes further by using radio wave automatic adjustments to keep time using the official atomic standard available in Japan, Germany, England and the United States. The display is highly readable.

Not stopping there, the Seiko Active Matrix EPD also features Home and World time views for those on the road. Stainless steel finished it off nicely. Nerd level goodness. Tip: mw.

Markaware Military Watch in Black

Markaware Military Watch

A simple take on the classic face of the military watch scene. The package is a decent one: comes with both a leather and nylon band. Wear whichever suits your needs. No one said you needed to stick with one band. Nice to see this done in a black rather than mil-green face. Wise Ark has it.
