fortis iq watch by rolf sachs front FORTIS IQ Watch by Rolf Sachs

Designer Rolf Sachs developed this blackboard face style watch for FORTIS after working on a shop window display for London’s Selfridges “on the occasion of a DADA exhibition in the Victoria and Albert Museum.”Known as the IQ, the watch has a green face and glow in the dark hands and markings and comes in an addition of 999 numbered units. The watch also looks to hold some secrets. “The humorous aspect of this design characterises the artist’s personality. Only at second view the secret of its concern is revealed.” (via dezeen)

blancpain air command Blancpain Air Command

If you are looking for a good and solid watch, that you can wear every day, under the shower, while skiiing or doing whatever else, the Rolex Submariner or any Rolex is always a good choice. Goes well with a suit and also more casual clothes.

Should you want something a little less common and if you care about the interior of your watch just as much as about the exterior, then you should consider the new Blancpain Air Command. Sporty, yet elegant and a masterpiece of Swiss watchmaking.

Who wants to spend a serious amount of money on a good watch and see half of the city running around in the same one? We do not!

Breitling Super Avenger Blacksteel Chronograph

Selectism - Breitling Super Avenger Blacksteel Chronograph

Finally, a Breitling to overtake the coveted Super Ocean. The Super Avenger Blacksteel uses a "highly resistant carbon nitride-based treatment" to give the 48mm build one hell of a matte finish. Its not as deep a diver as the Super Ocean though with only mere 300 meters in water resistance, but what’s that matter when you got a bad ass Blacksteel Breitling.

Glycine Incursore Power Reserve Chronograph

Selectism - Glycine Incursore Power Reserve Chronograph

Swiss watchmaker Glycine has been developing and manufacturing some great military and flight ready chronographs since the 50’s. Their latest Glycine Incursore Power Reserve DLC Chronograph offers a very simple and to the point dial with the interesting addition of a power reserve meter. Some would argue that on an automatic, you should not worry yourself with the issue of power as it will keep itself fueled. Problem is you sometimes do take it off and having that little reminder would be helpful.

The Glycine Incursore Power Reserve is finished with a nice coat of black DLC nd runs with a reserve of 46 hours.  A more detailed view of the Glycine is offered after the jump.

Selectism - Wyler Geneve Dakar Rally Timekeeper

Wyler Geneve is taking a major role in the coming 30th anniversary running of the Dakar Rally in 2009. The Dakar Rally is an endurance race of machinery – cars, trucks, motorbikes – which in the past has ripped from Europe through Africa. For 2009, the race is going into South America, taking participants on a grueling 9000 km race from Buenos Aires through Chile and back into Argentina. The 30th running of the Dakar Rally will allow Wyler to showcase their new shock absorbing timepiece which is made to hold up under the toughest of situations – even a rollover. That’s right. Wyler claims this chrono can withstand a few tons rolling over it. Danger!
