TF Est. 1968 – Tourbillon Cufflinks

tf est 1968 tourbillon cufflink 1 TF Est. 1968 Tourbillon Cufflinks
Near as we can tell, these cufflinks from Swiss brand TF Est. 1968 do not actually do anything mechanical, despite the visibility of some watch-like gears and springs. Of course, what do we really need from cufflinks other than solid construction that holds our shirt cuffs together? Damn interesting pieces from a brand that dabbles in cufflinks and rollerball pens inspired by the world of watchmaking—which they also partake in, along with crafting some fine leather goods to boot. Get them in three handsome colors over at Colette.

Braun Digital Watch – BN0076 Model

13 April 2012, 18.39 | Posted in Watches | No comments »

braun digital watch 1 Braun Digital Watch BN0076 Model
Part of a relaunched collection of Braun watches from the ’70s, this model still gets an approving nod from its designers Dietrich Lubs and Dieter Rams, the duo behind most of Braun’s iconic clocks. Rams calls out the watches’ “independent and functionally-oriented designs” in reference to its continued appeal.

The BN0076 is based on the duo’s DW30, designed in 1978. Only 3,000 were made, making the BN0076 an easy way to grab a bit of rarefied bravado from the past. Stainless steel face, black leather band, and lighted, digital LCD display; and a quick glance confirms that this is indeed the same Braun that makes some of the planet’s most popular coffemakers. Pick it up at Vetted.

Uniform Wares 01 540x311 Watch | Crane.tv Uniform Wares Watches

Crane.tv talk to Patrick Bek and Oliver Fowles, the brains behind London watch brand Uniform Wares. We’ve covered the label in the past, their pared down, simple designs right up our street. The idea was to strip back as many unnecessary elements and possible and let the materials and finish do the talking. While their products are in part style driven, the guys want this to be something you wear for years rather than a fashion-lead item binned with the next trend. The perfect meeting of function, design and style.

Seiko SKX173 Automatic Diver Watch

seiko SKX173 automatic diver watch 1 Seiko SKX173 Automatic Diver Watch

Seiko diving watches are some of the most reasonably priced watches in the category and a perfect starter watch for anyone interested in diver timepiece, without crossing the $500 mark. A noted example is the Seiko SKX173 automatic diver watch Seiko SKX173 Automatic Diver Watch with a 42mm casing set on a rubberized (urethane) strap. It runs on the Japanese Seiko 7S26 movement and is cased in steel. Many users call it a “hefty” watch – you can see its girth in the photos.

For the guy wearing the Seiko SKX173 day to day, the short 24 hour power reserve will not be an issue, especially given that the price point comes in nicely at $205 Seiko SKX173 Automatic Diver Watch. A solid choice for those looking to dip into the watch game without coming close to breaking the bank.
