Cole Haan Franklin Wingtips - New Colors

Cole Haan keeps pounding them out. Their latest SOHO shop-only exclusives come in the form of the Franklin wingtip shoes – now available in three new colorways: cordovan, grey and khaki. The Cole Haan Franklin wingtips are made from a mix of waxed canvas and leather with all models featuring the standard Nike sole found on the Cole Haan collection. The women’s set get the yellow sole.

Overall another great take on the wingtip, but we’re more excited to see what is coming next from the brand. $268 and available now at Cole Haan SOHO.

Epaulet Carmina 05 540x360 Carmina for Epaulet Fitzgerald Wingtip Shoes

Spanish shoemakers Carmina have been churning out quality footwear since 1886, known for their sharp European lines and commitment to making high quality shoes that are actually comfortable to walk in, something of a novelty in the high-end market. They’ve teamed up with New York store Epaulet to create these shortwing Fitzgeralds. A subtle brogue with a rounded toe and goodyear welted sole, this is created on the Forest last which Epaulet describes as a giving “a slightly higher toebox”.  Calfskin dark brown leather, purple lining, waxed laces – these feel more toned down than many similar models we’ve features, perhaps one for those not looking to show-off. cole haan lunargrand leather wingtips 1 Cole Haan LunarGrand Wingtips Now in Leather for Men and Women

We sung praises for the original delivery of Cole Haan Lunargrand shoes during New York Fashion Week. The wingtip uppers set against the Nike Lunar soles make them some of the more comfortable wardrobe-proper shoes on the market right now. Today, Cole Haan released a fresh batch of colorways with their leather Lunargrand versions. Pick and choose your favorites. They run $278 and are sold exclusively through the Cole Haan SoHo store at 128 Prince Street, NYC. Some of these are sex specific but truthfully, they all look good.

Pierre Hardy Light Blue Wingtip Shoes

The Snob brothers point us at these Pierre Hardy wingtip shoes, part of their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. They call them light blue but they are more turquoise than anything. Compliment then with a variety of slacks. Yes, slacks. Restir has them.

Cole Haan Lunargrand Wingtip Shoes – Dynamic Support on Outside

cole haan lunargrand wingtip shoe beige red sole 3 Cole Haan Lunargrand Wingtip Shoes Dynamic Support on Outside

Just in from the folks at Cole Haan a few days from launch date… The new Cole Haan Lunargrand Wingtip shoes are an interesting vitally important turn for the Cole Haan brand in 2012. The shoe line has been patiently waiting for a bit of a reboot for some time. Clearly the Lunargrand is the start of that move and much of it comes from a certain freedom being afforded to the brand from their parent company, Nike, in borrowing technology on a level not often seen on the exterior of the shoes themselves. The Lunargradn is different.

If Cole Haan had simply released this series of wingtips with the Nike Air tech on the inside, rather than the Lunar sole, we would not have the visual queues that allow for the Lunargrand to be much more than another wingtip on the market.

It is rare for a classic upper to work with a non-traditional sole design, but the Lunargrand pulls it off well. More importantly, it respects the original silhouette of the wingtip while moving the the shoe form forward in a manner that is certain to offer an alternative to the original constructions found in boutiques today. Wear test aside, the look is proper. The fusion/welt is clean (we’re sure they went to some serious rounds of samples to get it right). Even Gary Warnett is a bit intrigued by it all.

Dropping February 9 at the Cole Haan SOHO store.

tss japan fall winter 2012 shoes outerwear 13 ts(s) Autumn/Winter 2012 Preview

ts(s) is one of the more accessible Japanese lines on the market. They distribute throughout Europe as well as in North America. For those new to the line, try to get your hands on some of the garments as they come down to touch and fit (don’t they all). Wools work well throughout the collection including on their contrasting wingtip boots, which will work for many. The yarn work in the wool jackets are choice as well.

Alden Chamois Longwing Blucher Shoes

Alden wraps their classic wingtip blucher shoe with oiled tobacco Chamois leather for the Leffot shop in New York City. The buttery look of the leather gives these wingtips a look which is almost asking for a distressing; wear them and make them look like shoes should – worn. The lugged sole and water resistant finish will give them years of us. More than likely, these wingtips are a short run affair, so jump on them immediate.

Yuketen’s A/W range has recently begun to filter onto the shelves of retailers around the globe, with a number of revised classics having resurfaced for the new season alongside several more progressive styles. Exploring the later, we thought it apt to highlight the Wingtip Ghillie – a standout addition to their eclectic footwear family. The Wingtip Ghillie has been handcrafted in California, as are all of their products, and sits atop a thick ripple sole; made from beautifully rich black leather with acorn contrast stitching, the shoe is nicely finished with rustic brogue detailing across the toe caps. A future classic, now available at Sweden’s Tres Bien Shop. -jr
