Selectism - Talking About The Abstraction Fall/Winter 2008

Thanks to Skeltons Legs for turning us onto the label Talking About The Abstraction. As they mention, "The brand is known for printing photos of clothes onto mismatched clothes in a stunningly realistic manner.  The first jacket you see is actually a sweater with the image of a jacket printed onto it." An absolute must see line.

Selectism - Miyuki Minami's Itazura for Fall/Winter 2008

Japanese designer, Miyuki Minami launched her Itazura line in 2003 after having worked in apparel for years. The name Itazura comes from children’s books. "Itazura swim around freely in the world of adult and the world of children, like Peter and Wendy in Peter Pan,written byBarrie james matthew. It is the world where the adult, who has learned to conceal cleverly, wants to peep in again." Her menswear collection for Fall/Winter 2008 plays on this theme with androgenous looks that fit oversized at times. (via sl)

highsnobiety - A.P.C. Winter 2008/09 Collection

A.P.C. has released today their Winter 2008/09 collection both in stores and online. The new collection presents lots of nice pieces and once again the French brand proofs, that there is no need for logos or oversized prints to attract attention with clothing. Subtle styles in high quality materials and an interesting overall mix of classic and new, make the collection stand out.

You find some fantastic knitwear, as well as outerwear in the new A.P.C. collection and the lace-up Indian boots are also a favorite.

Selectism - Rene Gurskov Men Fall/Winter 2008/2009

Denmark’s Rene Gurskov’s Men’s line is cryptic at times in determining what the focus or theme is when reading their press releases. Luckily the clothing tends to hold itself up without need for words or communicae. What we can make out is that the Fall/Winter 2008/2009 collection, "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me." pulls from the Boy George aesthetic of London "finding his way /style… Guys with tattoos and bloody nose."

Sneaky Steve Footwear Fall/Winter 2008/2009

Selectism - Sneaky Steve Footwear Fall/Winter 2008/2009

Sneaky Steve is a shoe brand that fits an important market that tends to be forgotten by many  brands today, the middle ground. Its like being the middle child in someways, where the market is either outpricing you or the lower end is simply too weak to be priced with. The good thing is that this middle ground is what consumers are asking for. Shelling out the big bucks every season for new footwear is not something all can do.

Sneaky Steve fills that gap. "Sneaky Steve is made for all sneaker lovers who want genuine design with an attitude for a bloody good price. Now you dont just one model, buy them all….The materials are based on leather, but you  will of course still find the classical sneaker material canvas in our classic sneaky steve sneakers, Swap High and Dicky Day."

Selectsim - United Arrows Fall/Winter 2008-2009

Japan’s United Arrows is a uniform in class. Their Fall/Winter 2008 offering for men takes notation from the Mad Men styling of the late Fifties and Sixties. Unlike other brand who reference the classic fittings of the Brooks Brothers Ivy League look, the United Arrows collection represents the Japanese education of the look. An education in details and refinement to give their suits, knits, and wear an awareness to the classic. Add in the Japanese tailoring you expect from United Arrows and your search for the Fall is over.

Selectism - Corto Moltedo Belts and Wallets for Fall/Winter 2008

When we first showcased the Corto Moltedo Collection for Men, their first collection ever for the other half, we intentionally left out the mens wallets and belts and for good reason. They stand alone amongst the bags and we would hate for them to be lost in the shuffle. Featuring a variety of materials making up wallets, passport holders, and more, Corto Moltedo has done it right in providing men with some fo the best leather goods on the market. Check that gold cassette belt buckle. Killer.
