What better way to celebrate the beginning of a new year then with some new jacket action. Nigo’s Human Made continues its steady rise on non-Japanese shores and whilst we find the pricing a little, well, challenging, there are enough impressive pieces to hold our interest. This version of an early wool motorcycle jacket has reeled us in.

The front has a modern biker jacket feel while the back, with its half-belt and side buckles, harks back to vintage bike and work wear. Find it at Cold Coffee’s online store.

They bring that little boost of freshness to lines in the middle of their autumn and winter offerings; specially tailored for the holiday shopper needing to bring the new to the gifting. While I sit here in Berlin, the heat has settled a bit, but my mind has me thinking on the coming Autumn. This Margiela scarf in silver wool and neutral look great. “Thick, double-sided wool scarf with one side cream and a other a cream and champagne stripe stitch.” Oki-ni has them.

Edwin’s collaborative shirting with Pendleton brings together the outstanding heritage and craft of two fine mills. The obvious (from title and look) is Pendleton Woolen Mills, located in beautiful Oregon, USA. The second of the mills, offering the lovely denim detailing, is Kaihara of Japan. Established in 1951, Kaihara began with 34 looms. By the 1970s, they had developed rope dying machines, and 20 years later grown into one of the world’s most renowned producers of sanforized selvedge denim.

What does this bit of (watered down) history tell us about new product? Well, it suggests Edwin has maintained an interest in established methods of production and factories with irrefutable lineage. And, the result is a run of limited (just 300) pieces down in very special color.

Set for July release, so this is just a little tease.

Made in Scotland from bionic merino wool comes a nice set of wool sweaters from C.H.C.M. Super bionic soft to the touch, the sweaters come in three flavors of silver, green, and camel color with ribbed neck and sleeves. I know French men who would rock these all season.

Stay warm in this loden wool blanket from April77 for Autumn/Winter 2009. Used in traditional Austrian clothing, Loden sheep’s wool is water resistant and great for laying down on a damp grass knoll. This blanket is part of April77’s “Collections” line and should be available shorty. Look for it in finer shops globally.
