Woolrich and its various labels set out their stall for Autumn/Winter 2012. While they’re not particularly treading new ground with John Rich and Bros, they do what they do well. There are a few more additions in terms of bright colour, easier to wear in the form of their classic fur hood parka.

They tell us “These Byrd Cloth Parkas not only add a pop of color, but also repel both water and wind because of the unique spinning and weaving of the cotton-based fabric.” So you’ll stay highly visible and, bonus, dry. Knitwear and casual suiting have a tradional feel, a solid collection all in all.

The Woolrich John Rich & Bros. collection gives us a mighty jump on their forthcoming pre-Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Talk about being early to market – we don’t mind. The “Makes and Tradesmen” collection is a reference to the “makers,” like John Rich himself, who opened the door in Pennsylvania to manufacturing. “Tradesmen” thanks those in careers like carpentry, shoemaking, tailoring that kept the men properly clothed. Fans fo the John Rich & Bros. collection will find further re-boots of classic forms including conductor vests and chore jackets that use “a strong fall palette of muted colors mixed with tweed, suede, canvas and twill.” Fabrication is the game here from Woolrich John Rich & Bros for Autumn 2011.

The Woolrich collection has long been sought after for decades. Today, many of the more modern pieces take much of inspiration from the classics. Their shawl collar cardigan, is just one example. The piece is made of 100% cotton and offers a “indigo fleece rib” finish. The is the perfect layering piece. Great piece from the guys over at Unionmade.

Part of the limited Tokihito Yoshida collaborative series, this is a lightweight, XT-Nylon reworking of the classic M-65 jacket. Woolrich John Rich & Bros. drops their Autumn/Winter 2010 lookbook on the world with expanded looks and previews of what to expect from the collection when it gets a bit colder again. The line stays in line with past looks but with the expected changes in styling. People either love or really love this collection. And why not? They’re delivering strong ready to wear pieces that fit into any man’s closet.
