Tool Project by Kato Climbing (Cycling) Pants

Selectism - Tool Project by Kato Climbing Pants

In the warm weather, I cycle in a pair of BDU military pants that I cut slightly below the knee. Its a perfect cut for me when riding as it covers the knee while giving good mobility when pedalling. This morning, I fell upon these Tool Project for Kato Japan climbing denim pants that like a lot like my custom cycling shorts, except the Kato’s are built like tanks. Workwear has its advantages.

Kato improves on my design by giving the thigh some bagginess to allow for room to move around while re-inforcing the knee with stitching. Add in two cargo pockets and one reaar pocket and all we’re missing is a lock hangar. For hiking, climbing, or cycling, these Kato denim pants are not to be passed over. Available now form Hymns.

This weekend Beams+ released their own branded "Chambray Work Shirts". They present the classic shirts in two colorways and as usual every detail is just right. From the bottons to the pockets, we have nothing to complain. Just a great shirt that will never go out of style.

1890’s Levi Vintage 201 on eBay

Selectism - 1890's Levi Vintage 201 on eBay

Something popped up on eBay last week that is catching the attention of those ultra-vintage hunters worldwide. A pair of 1890’s Levi 201’s were found in the Mojave Desert in Californian. This find find in itself is not a common one but what is making this find a biggie is the condition of the denim jeans themselves. From the auction, "They are covered in candlewax from the candle’s the miner was using to light the tunnel he was working in. They were found with and old paper bag with the name of a mercantile store which operated between 1895 and 1898 in the town or Randsburg.  Their was also a gunny sack with the initials A.P.K. and Randsburg marked on it.  A.P.K. is through to be Adam P. Kuffel who was a partner in the mercantile store." As of this posting, the auction has hit 8000$US and we can only assume it will reach 5 digits soon.

This has to be seen to believe. Visit this eBay auction and view more shots of the denim after the jump.
