Harrods of London present their new in house “YSL pour Harrods” tuxedo just in time for Fashion Week in their fair city. YSL’s own Stefano Pilati worked on the special in-store tux that “seamlessly blended modern touches with echoes of the YSL decadence of the ‘60’s.” The double breasted, satin peak lapel tuxedo features a full lined jacket and a label to make it all that more special. Find it exclusively at Harrods for around $3,299.

More tough faced models in leather and black for Autumn Winter 2012. Dazed brings us looks from the YSL show that looks to dip into the black rather than blue rush for autumn. YSL adds a camo spin to the sole of their footwear for Autumn Winter 2011. It is an easy touch that adds just a dash of color(s) to their Teddy boot and Lug Sole laceups.. The uppers come in black or brown and pull inspiration from those 60’s military boots. Easy on the eyes.

“Capturing Yves Saint Laurent’s rapturously received spring ‘58 debut for Dior and a selection of the designer’s show-stopping bridal gowns throughout the decades, today’s exclusive clip is taken from new documentary L’Amour Fou. Translating to “Mad Love,” the film traces the 50-year romance between the fashion legend and industrialist Pierre Bergé.” (nowness)

The film opens May 20. It is playing now in New York and Paris.

We asked Riccardi Boston’s creative director, Joseph Morrissey, to give his perspective on the 2011 YSL for Atelier collection.

YSL and Atelier have teamed up again to offer similar styles to the first capsule collection they debuted last year. Obvious success from the first project has dictated a similar aesthetic prone to long proportions, cinched waists and uniformed blacks.

With fabrics switching between fine cashmere, wool, and nylon/silk, it is unnecessary to denote a season to these classic shapes and textures that arrive in store for the pre-Autumn delivery. The creatives of Atelier are honoring their customer with a celebration of their influence in menswear by offering a great line of luxurious basics. While its not a huge departure from the past, it is more interesting then the YSL mainline for Autumn/Winter 2011.

Keep throwing that luxe at us. YSL drops a great “Valentine’s Day” gift for the woman in your life looking for a little brighspot to shine that dark iPad. At $750, it is not cheap. We could all have guessed that. “YSL first released the ChYc iPad case in the brand’s signature black and is now offering a fire-red version, which is perfectly in tune with spring’s all-business envelope clutch. It’s priced about the same as the midlevel Wi-Fi and 3G-enabled iPad.” (tmag)
